My portfolio!
Hi I’m Sarah! I'm from Liverpool and have a dream to one day work in the film and television industry. From a young age, my favourite hobby was dancing and this led to several opportunities performing in theatre pantomimes. The chance to be involved in entertaining people was so exhilarating and I enjoyed every minute of it! On top of this, I was also fascinated by the creative process with people working as a team to make something special.
Throughout my life, I have had a close connection with the Film and TV industry as my dad works as a Stunt Coordinator and 2nd Unit Director. This has allowed me the rare opportunity to be on set and see behind the scenes of Film and TV production. These experiences have inspired and driven me to follow my dream of a career in this amazing field.
During the summer of 2024, I brought one of my ideas to life. I had the opportunity to create my own short film called Lucid. I took inspiration from the horror genre - in particular the film 'The Evil Dead', mixing it with aspects of one of my favourite director's - Alfred Hitchcock (also known as the 'master of suspense'). What an experience!!! I enjoyed the whole process so much. My role in my short film was the creator, writer, director and editor. I learnt how to direct, write, storyboard, shot list and edit whilst learning to understand a whole range of filming terminology. The film industry is highly creative and collaborative, both in front of and behind the cameras, bringing together actors, producers and directors as well as the artistic, technical and imaginative crew members from several trades and departments. I was fortunate to include my family and friends on this project which gave me a real experience of what it's like to work as a director on a film set. My sister, Chloe Seed, took on the role as my actress and makeup artist, my dad, Gordon Seed, was the stunt co-ordinator and Adam Collins kindly worked as my DOP. Other family and friends helped with props, costume etc... Having this expertise around me really helped me to fulfill and enjoy my role as director as well as learn more about their roles too.
I have a very creative and innovative mind and hope that with this course, one day, I will get to work in this incredible industry.
